Oh my God, beginner artists, please heed this---DO NOT TRACE. I've done this a bit in the past, but in reality, it doesn't really help to get better. Please try drawing it yourself. You'll feel much better. And any praise you get will be authentic and worthy of getting.

Nothing wrong with using references when you draw, most artists do that, like myself. References and looking at photos of real life are FINE to use.

But, the only time it's "okay" to trace, is tracing your OWN artwork from SCRATCH. Like when you do the sketch and go over it again for the line art, that's okay. But tracing pics done by OTHER people, big no-no. Just draw what you see the best you can. Don't go over it, and even worse, claiming it as your work because it's not. You just went over someone else's drawing and called it your work, which is a big fat lie. Just NO. I see beginner artists tell this to other beginners, and it makes me cringe. Also with recoloring...NO, THAT ISN'T YOUR ART. That's NOT effort. That's called LAZINESS.

So please, coming from a beginner artist myself, just don't trace, for God's sake. ^^; (And yes, I still see myself as a beginner, as I still have MUCH to learn. :faint: )
